Out of hours emergency
In order to allow us to provide the very best, around the clock care to your pet, we have partnered with South Downs Emergency Vets to assist us to deliver some periods of out of hours care.
Should you become concerned about your pet out of hours, you should follow the guidance below to ensure that you can quickly speak to our out of hours team, who will carefully assess your pets condition and advise you on whether your pet needs to be seen out of hours.
Monday 7pm-Wednesday 8am :
Please call our on call team here at Farthings Veterinary Group on 01403 252900. You will be directed to our answer service who will contact our on call vet. The vet will call you back and assess your pets condition and will arrange to meet you at the surgery should your pet need to be treated out of hours.
Thursday 7pm-Monday 8am (including Sat from 12.30pm & Sunday day) & 24hrs on Bank Holidays :
Please call the South Downs Emergency team on 01903 746028. Just like our own team, their duty vet will provide free advice about your pet’s condition over the phone and will assess your pet’s needs. If your pet needs to be seen out of hours, the South Downs team will provide clear guidance on how to safely transport your pet to their dedicated out of hours clinic in Storrington.
The South Downs team will provide emergency treatment for your pet, referring you back to the Farthings Team for ongoing treatment the following day/ as soon as your pet is well enough to travel back to us. The South Downs team will share detailed treatment notes for every case that they see on our behalf, and will work closely with our team to deliver the very best care to your pet.
